Ovarian Cyst - Laparoscopic Ovarian Cystectomy
Symptoms
A 38 year old woman presented for fertility investigations. She had been experiencing bloating.
Diagnosis
A pelvic ultrasound revealed a 12cm left ovarian cyst.
Procedure
She subsequently underwent a Laparoscopic left Ovarian Cystectomy.
Outcome
The pathology revealed a benign serous cystadenoma.
The large left ovarian cyst is in front of the uterus.
The cyst is decompressed and stripped out.
The ovarian cortex is incised to reveal the large cyst
Ongoing remodeling of the left ovary will occur over the next few weeks.
