Fibroid - Laparoscopic Myomectomy
Symptoms
A 30 year old woman presented with a pelvic mass and pelvic pain.
Diagnosis
Serial Pelvic Ultrasounds demonstrated a very gradual increase in size to 75mm. There was evidence of degeneration of the fibroid which is known to be a cause of pelvic pain.
Procedure
A Laparoscopic Myomectomy was performed. The pictures show a fibroid on the left side of the uterus. The fibroid is removed and the uterus closed in 3 layers. The procedure took 90 minutes.
Outcome
The patient made an excellent recovery and the pain resolved.
