Cyst - Laparoscopic Cystectomy

A 59 year old woman presented with episodes of severe right sided pelvic pain and nausea.

A Pelvic USS revealed a 6cm cyst of the right tube. Laparoscopy revealed a cyst of the right ovary which had twisted and torted (cut off its blood supply).

The right tube and ovary were removed. The recommendation is to remove the left ovary and tube also.

The left tubal cyst and left ovary have twisted around on the pedicle.

Close up showing left ovary and tube have limited blood supply (mottled appearance.)

The normal pelvis at the end of the procedure. Both tubes and ovaries have been removed.
